一、                      兩個完整句子之間使用逗號,分隔

錯誤示例：It was raining hard, they could not work in the fields.

這一英文標點符號常見錯誤是受到了中文逗號用法的影響。但實際上，兩個完整英文句子之間必須有連詞，如and，but等，或者可以用分號;

正確示例：It was raining hard, and they could not work in the fields.

It was raining hard. They could not work in the fields.

It was raining hard; they could not work in the fields.

It was raining so hard that they could not work in the fields.

二、                      英文出現(xiàn)頓號和書名號

英文標點沒有頓號（、），也沒有書名號（《》）！這一英文標點符號常見錯誤也是中國學生寫作時經(jīng)?；煜?/span>。

英文中多個并列結(jié)構(gòu)用逗號（,）分隔。

英文中的印刷體用斜體字表示書籍、報刊、戲劇、電影、繪畫作品等的名稱，而非書名號。

錯誤示例：I like reading books、listening to music、watching TV、and studying English.

正確示例：I like reading books, listening to music, watching TV, and studying English.

錯誤示例：My favorite books including 《Gone with the Wind》、《Pride and Prejudice》 and 《To Kill A Mockingbird》.

正確示例：My favorite books including Gone with the Wind, Pride and Prejudice and To Kill A Mockingbird.

三、                      英文的省略號書寫錯誤

英文中的省略號只有三個點，且是三個句號，不是中文省略號的一半。

示例：I got so into preparing meals that I started to make lunch for my mom and homemade treats for my dogs...（對比中文省略號??）

四、                      英文的連字符、破折號混用

1、       連字符（Hyphen）

連字符用于把兩個或更多的單詞連在一起組成復(fù)合詞，且hyphen的前后不用空格。

示例： face-to-face, well-know, a 10-year-old boy, twenty-two

2、       短破折號 （En Dash）

表達 " 從……到…… " 的意思，主要連接數(shù)字或單詞，相當于to

示例：My life at university, 2011–2015, was so memorable.

表達兩者之間的關(guān)系。 

示例：mother–daughter relationship

代替連字符。當合成詞的其中一部分本身就是合成詞，這時需要用短破折號代替連字符。

示例：Pre–Civil War era（后內(nèi)戰(zhàn)時代，Civil War本身就是個合成詞）

3、       破折號 （Em Dash）

解釋說明

During the ?rst week, I would email my mom every five minutes and get furious when she didn't answer right away—scared that something had happened, when in reality it was all ?ne.

代替逗號使用，強調(diào)內(nèi)容

And yet, when the car was finally delivered?—nearly three months after it was ordered?—she decided she no longer wanted it, leaving the dealer with an oddly equipped car that would be difficult to sell.

表示引用

表示話沒說完，被打斷，類似于省略號。

Maybe she likes—yes, she definitely likes me.
